Parkallen Gang
After the Party ...
Well Parkalleners, it was quite a reunion, but we managed to come out of it more or less unscathed. Old acquaintances were renewed, new alliances formed and old memories were rehashed. The usual suspects just re-hashed. Some people looked the same as they always did, while others have obviously been through hell and back, but in true Parkallen fashion they showed up anyways and added their own peculiar brand of behaviour to the evening's entertainment. A few old conflicts reared their ugly heads once again, but only a couple of them resulted in skirmishes that were worth reporting. The most frequent combatant seemed to be the ground immediately surrounding the fire-pit patio, as it took turns rushing at 4 or 5 well-lubricated partiers. On the other hand, the space beneath the picnic tables provided a welcome refuge for several unbalanced individuals. Yes, once again it was business as usual for the old Parkallen gang.
So NOW what? There were a lot of questionable suggestions bandied about during the "fire-pit hours", most of them coming from out-of-control drunks or hopeless romantics .. but both groups were pretty difficult to understand at 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning. Nevertheless, there was one recurring theme repeated time and again amongst the crowd around the bonfire, and that was "when is the next one?". Well, that is up to all of you .. after all, the organizing committee doesn't have a monopoly on the right to stage these things . I mean, we only did this as a reason to meet at the bar once every four weeks. So if any of you have some sort of twisted need to get into a monthly argument over who owes what on the bar tab, step right up .. we have got a job for you!
